Meet Ron Holliman


Ron Holliman has been a hair stylist at Diadem Salon for several years. Throughout the years he has grown his craft,  specializing in hair color services. He went to hair school where he became certified but he says the real experience is what he learned from the salons master stylist, Desiree Oglesby. 
"I have learned so much from being at Diadem, hair school taught me the basics, but here I learned how to master my craft." 
And master his craft he did. Diadem has now located to Brewerytown where they have several clients at lest five days a week. Holliman's favorite thing to do is hair color services, but he does a range of others.

Maintaining Natural Hair

Natural hair can be really tricky to maintain especially when you have textured and thick hair like I do. My hair tends to be more dry than oily, so hydration is always my top priority. When I wear my natural hair, I like to use coconut oil, or jojoba oil to keep it soft. Shampoo is also important, and using one with no sulfate makes all the difference.

Avoiding Heat Damage

Many people opt to go natural in fear of damaging their hair with excessive heat. Having worn my hair natural and straightened, I know the struggle. Putting too much heat on your hair will mess up your curl pattern, that is unavoidable.  However you can still have healthy hair and wear it straightened. The key to this is to not put too much heat on your hair. Setting a schedule for yourself if very important. Everyday straightening should be avoided, try opting for once a week, or every two weeks if possible. This schedule will insure that your hair is not taking too much heat, keeping it at a healthy balance.
